Read how Kim beat the onset of illnesses through her fitness journey!
When I first contacted Limitless I was at a crossroads in my life. In my forties, I had hypothyroid and had steadily been gaining weight over the last seven years. My activity level had declined along with my stamina and self-confidence. After finally becoming sick and tired of my fitness level and the fear of developing Diabetes, high cholesterol & high blood pressure I took the advice of an old friend and sent that email.
The first thing to note about my first visit is how incredibly welcoming everyone is. Going to a gym after so many years of inactivity can be a bit nerve wracking and I didn’t know what to expect. Mariah, my personal trainer, was waiting for me and immediately made me feel at ease and comfortable. I have joined gyms in the past but outside of the nautilus machines I had no clue what to do. Mariah has spent countless hours showing me proper form and encouraging me to push myself further than I believed I was capable. It was an amazing feeling to finally do a real pushup from the floor or bench press a little more weight, I never thought I’d get there!
Over the last eight months I have lost some weight, about ten pounds, but that’s not what excites me. I have lost fat and gained muscle- I can see them now! I have more stamina and feel so much stronger than I have in so long. I’m paying closer attention to the foods I eat and feeling the difference in my clothes. I recently had a full panel of bloodwork done and literally every single thing came back better than it has in years, everything was in the normal range. One of my goals for working out was to avoid some of the medical issues so prevalent in my family and since joining Limitless I am well on my way to achieving that goal.
I truly cannot thank the team at Limitless enough, Mariah in particular, for everything I have lost and gained. Mariah has gone the extra mile as a personal trainer. Her knowledge about fitness is vast and she’s great at motivating me but also knows when I need to ease up a little. She holds me accountable, which I need, but also understands that life happens sometimes.
I’ve been a member of gyms before but I’ve learned some things while being at Limitless. The first being if you join a gym you have to actually go in! You need to feel good about the environment and have a knowledgeable and supportive staff. You need to feel secure that you’re being taught proper form for injury prevention. I get all these things and so much more from being at limitless.
I’m so grateful for the support I receive from Mariah and all the staff at Limitless and look forward to what the future holds for me!
