My fitness journey started right before I turned 30. After witnessing the declining health of some older family members, I decided that I was going to do everything in my power to ensure that this wasn’t my path. Although I had been an athlete as a teenager, I chose a corporate career path in my 20s that left me putting myself last.

My first introduction back into the fitness world was boot camp and HIIT-style classes that incorporated strength training. From there, I fell in love with lifting heavy weights and began training as a competitive powerlifter. For seven years, I competed at state, regional, and national levels, earning multiple podium finishes, three State Championship titles, and several state records in my division. Aside from any awards, powerlifting opened the door for me to become a coach first and, ultimately, an NASM-certified Trainer.

As my family has grown and priorities have changed, I’ve moved away from competing and now focus on strength training for health and longevity. As a trainer, I work with my clients to do the same. I’m passionate about introducing new clients to the benefits of strength training, which includes corrective exercise, proper technique, increased energy and confidence, and overall improved movement and function. I believe in the power of the “small win”—those seemingly simple everyday tasks that become easier as we become stronger and more mobile. I love to see clients keeping up with their kids, living independently without fear of falling, or returning to their favorite sport after overcoming injury or setback. I like to create effective workouts that are both challenging and fun. I enjoy combining strength with a little “sneaky” cardio and a great playlist!
